England Tour of Pakistan, 2022
Pakistan was defeated by England in the third and final test match by 8 wickets. England also becomes the first team to whitewash Pakistan in a test format on Pakistan’s home soil
ENG vs PAK: After defeating Pakistan in the last Test of the series and winning the match with 8 wickets remaining on the third test match’s fourth day, England had stomped their way to making history.
Rehan Ahmed, who claimed a five-wicket haul in the second innings and dismantled the Pakistan batting order, was the standout for England in the game’s second half. In order to take his maiden wicket early in the first innings, Ahmed had outstanding ball control, which drove the experts into a frenzy.
ENG vs PAK: The McCullum-Stokes duet is amazing
England is the first team to whitewash Pakistan in a Test series in Pakistan, thanks to Ben Stokes and his side making history there.
The Ben Stokes with Brendon McCullum combination certainly working and it seems like there is nothing that can stop them. It is not easy to beat a team in their home ground and not only beat them but clean sweep them for the series win.
ENG vs PAK: Pakistan Struggling throughout the series
There is no justification for Pakistan losing the following two tests, despite the possibility that they panicked in the final stages of the first Test. Simply put, they lacked any counterarguments to England’s redoubled efforts.
It’s not as if they were unaware of what was approaching them. Despite their improved consistency, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, and Saud Shakeel should be extremely happy with themselves. The remaining team members did not perform as expected and that created the result that no one expected before the start of the series.
ENG vs PAK: Babar led from the front but failed to carry his team
The dismissal of Babar Azam in both innings caused a collapse and essentially explains why Pakistan was unable to force the issue. By choosing to bat, they fell between 75 and 100 runs short of their first innings total.
They also lost three quick wickets early on day three, including Babar, making it harder for Pakistan to get back into the game, despite getting off to a great start in their second essay.
ENG vs PAK: Standout Player of the Series & Third Test
A total of 468 runs were added by the 23-year-old Brook throughout the trip, surpassing David Gower’s 449 runs when England visited Pakistan in the 1983–84 season. Before tea, Brook raised his century off 133 balls by hitting a boundary off of Abrar through the covers.
Before England’s lower order frustrated Pakistan and built a 50-run first-innings advantage in the last Test on Sunday, Harry Brook hit his third century in as many matches. In the third Test on Sunday, England made 354 in response to Pakistan’s first-innings total of 304 after Brook had scored centuries in their triumphs in Rawalpindi and Multan.
His incredible performance in the series made sure that England win the series comfortably and create history. Harry Brook’s received the Man of the match award for the final test and he also received the Player of the Tournament award for his match-winning performances.
ENG vs PAK: The Test Match Summary
It’s a nightmare series for Pakistan as they have never been whitewashed in a test match series on their own home soil. This is a huge embarrassment for the Pakistan cricket board and its players as they once again fail in this series for the third consecutive test match.
