“Doctor Said Prithvi Shaw Has Something Like Typhoid”: says Rishabh Pant

Prithvi Shaw Has Typhoid: Rishabh Pant, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, said that he lacked Prithvi Shaw in the frame even though the team was victorious in their 6th match of the Indian Premier League 2022. On Wednesday, DC demolished Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets owing to the all-around brilliance of Mitchell Marsh and the clever batting of David Warner, who scored fifty.

The match versus Lucknow Super Giants on May 1 was the last time Prithvi Shaw appeared for DC in this season’s tournament. On Wednesday, his substitute Srikar Bharat failed to score versus RR, but DC was able to win thanks to the pairing of Marsh and Warner.

It wasn’t until very recently that he provided an update on his health and said that he had been brought to the hospital because he was feeling unwell with a fever. Nevertheless, Pant provided some further information about Shaw’s health and noted that the batsman has something which is similar to typhoid.

“We miss him but we can’t control that. He has typhoid or something like that is what the doctor told me,” said DC captain Pant.

I believe there is always space for improvement: Pant

Following their big victory, the Delhi Capitals have ensured that they will continue to compete for a spot in the playoffs. DC has struggled to maintain consistency in the effort, which is also being impacted by the presence of a few instances of Covid-19 in the camp.

“It was close to a perfect game as I believe there is always space for improvement. On these kinds of wickets where there is little turn, you can go either way. I am happy we bowled first. I thought 140-160 was a good score and said so at the toss. And we got there. Destiny is always on your hands, you can look to give 100 percent. The fielding could be better, but this was close to a perfect game,” he said.

DC had previously defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad with the help of David Warner’s unbeaten 92 and a blazing half-century from Rovman Powell. This victory came only a few days before the team’s thrashing at the arms of the reigning champions, Chennai Super Kings.

Rishabh Pant characterized DC’s win against RR as near to a flawless game, but he also noted that there is always a potential for growth in a team’s performance.
