IND Vs BAN: Who among KL Rahul and Shubman Gill will be out when Rohit Sharma comes?

BAN v IND 2022:Shubman Gill batted outstandingly against Bangladesh in the first Test while playing at a place of India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma. He took advantage of the chance and hit a century in the second inning. But, as Rohit Sharma’s potential return for the second Test has now grown. In this case, the management of the team may be faced with the decision of whether to drop Shubman Gill, who scored a century, or the skipper of first-test captain KL Rahul, under India registered a 188-run win.

Rohit Sharma sustained a thumb injury during the ODI series and missed the first Test match of the two-game series against Bangladesh in Chattogram due to the same reason. However, according to current reports, Rohit is most likely to come back to Bangladesh for the second Test, which will start on December 22 in Mirpur.

But with Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara, who both just scored stunning centuries, his return is likely to cause a major selection headache.

Rohit’s absence provides Gill a chance

Rohit’s absence from the series opener gave Gill the chance to be a part of India’s playing 11. The youngster capitalised on the opportunity by scoring his first Test century.

Pujara, was the other centurion alongside Gill in the series opener. On top of that, it was Pujara’s quickest triple-figure knock ever, it was his first Test century in 52 innings.

KL Rahul, on the other hand, didn’t performed well with the bat, but he did a good job while captaining the side in the first test, which India won by 188 runs.

Gill would unfortunately have to make room for Rohit if he came back for India. And if Pujara hadn’t scored so many runs, India might have even chosen Gill to replace the veteran.

Former Cricketer makes a bold statement on Rohit’s inclusion in 2nd test

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja gave an astonishing response when asked who would sit out if Rohit returned, he stated that Rohit should stay at NCA, where he is recovering from the injury.

“Tabhi toh bol raha hu Rohit ko bolo ghar me baithne keliye (That is why I suggest Rohit should stay at home). When a player suffers a hand fracture and you cannot hold the bat for about 10 days, even if you recover, you cannot really join the team the very next day. It takes another 1- to 15 days. And we don’t even know the extent of the injury yet. That is why I suggest this. We are looking for a temporary solution and this is the best solution for it,” he said during his conversation with Sony Sports.

Team India will likely to play with the same playing 11 as first in the final test also.

The second and the final test match of the series will start from December 22 onwards in Mirpur.
