Team Australia will travel to India for a three-match T-20 series in September 2022 as part of the preparation for the T-20 world cup.
They will again return in February 2023 to play 4 test games and will try to take revenge for the Border-Gavaskar trophy which team India won by 2-1 in Australia in late 2020.
The test series will be part of the WTC (World Test Championship) 2021-23 cycle and is equally important one to qualify for the finals of WTC.
The Aussie team are currently at top of the WTC table with 5 wins in 8 matches, including 3 draws. While the Indian side are at third spot with 6 wins and 2 losses in 11 games, including 2 draws.
Australia are scheduled to play many away series in the next 18 months. In June they will tour to Sri Lanka for 2 tests, 3 T-20s, and 5-ODIs, although because of some political issues in the country this tour is under consideration. Their tours followed by a trip to India in Feb-Mar 2023, Ashes in June-July 2023 and the South Africa tour next year. In between, they will T-20 world in 2022 and 50 over world cup 2023 as well.
As part of their jam-packed schedule, Australia will be seen playing alongside the no.1 T-20 team in the world ahead of the 2022 T-20 World Cup, which is schedule to take place in Australia itself in the month of October.
The T-20 world cup 2022 will start on October 16, 2022. The host nation of the 2022 World Cup is Australia.
The Indian team will start their world cup campaign on 23rd October against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium. While Australia will play their first game against New Zealand on October 22 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
