Star Indian batter Virat Kohli surpassed legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to register the most fifty-plus scores at ICC events on Sunday.

The star Indian batter accomplished his 24th fifty-plus score to surpass Sachin’s total of 23 during his side’s Super 12 match against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In his 26 matches at ICC Cricket World Cup events, Kohli has scored 1,030 runs at an average of 46.81. Two centuries and six half-centuries have come out of his bat, with the best score of 107.

Virat has amassed a total of 2,486 runs in 60 innings at an average of 60.63 in 61 ICC event games. His bat has produced two century and 22 half-centuries, with a top score of 107.

Sachin’s records in ICC events

In contrast, Sachin has scored 2,278 runs at an average of 56.95 in 45 World Cup games in 44 innings. His bat has produced six tons and fifteen fifties, with a best of 152. He has scored the most goals in tournament history.

Sachin has not participated in the ICC T20 World Cup.

In 16 games of the Champions Trophy, Sachin scored 441 runs at an average of 36.75 in 14 innings. In this competition, he has hit one century and a half-century, with a top score of 141.

Sachin has scored 2,719 runs in 61 games at ICC events. These runs have been completed at a pace of 49.43. With a top score of 152, his bat has produced seven hundreds and sixteen half-centuries.

Virat’s unbeaten 83-run knock not just helped him cross the benchmark but also handed India a comprehensive victory over Pakistan.

The ex-skipper not just soaked the pressure of losing four wickets at a score of 31 in a 160-run chase game by playing sensible knock till 18th over. But, changed his gears to aggressive modes when the required rate was around 16 to help India win the game.
