The 33-year old achieved the feat in men in blue’s game against Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval on November 2.

Before the game, Kohli was needed 16 runs to overtake Jayewardene, but as the run-machine is in form now-a-days he played an unbeaten 62-run knock and not just overtook Sri Lanka Legend but also guided India to a good total of 184 in 20 overs.

He alongside Hardik Pandya added 113-run for the fifth wicket, Pandya left out in the process, but Kohli remained till last at the crease and handed India a win.
