Happy birthday Jonny Bairstow

England’s power hitter turns 33 today

Early life

Jonathan Marc Bairstow, better known by his stage name Jonny Bairstow. He is the younger half-brother of former Derbyshire player Andrew Bairstow and the second child of former Yorkshire and England wicket-keeper David Bairstow.

Bairstow was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, on September 26, 1989. He showed talent at a young age when, in 2007, he scored 654 runs for St. Peter’s School in York, earning him the honor of being named the first Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year.

Additionally, Bairstow participated in youth football for Leeds United. He is an English cricket player who competes for England in all formats on the international stage.

Cricket Life

He plays for Yorkshire in domestic cricket and has participated in a number of Twenty20 domestic leagues, including in the Indian Premier League teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings.

He competed for England in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, which he played a key role in winning.

Bairstow bats and keeps wickets right-handed. He and Ben Stokes hold the world record for the longest sixth-wicket stand in Test cricket 399 runs, which occurred during England’s 2015–16 tour of South Africa.

Bairstow’s talent

Bairstow is an excellent wicketkeeper and batsman for England, particularly in limited-overs games. Although he can bat anywhere in the lineup, opening the innings is where he can do the most damage.

His frequent ability to finds the boundary ropes is what make him so special as a top order batsman.

He is yet to score big runs in Tests the way he does in the shorter formats. In addition to his prowess in cricket, he is a skilled player in rugby and football.

Bairstow’s Top IPL Knocks:
