Pakistan Squad Announcement: Pakistan has released a 15-player roster for the 2023 Women’s T20 WC, which will take place in South Africa in February. The Board also released the squad for the Australia Series to be held before the apex tournament.
Let’s see what the squad looks like:
PAKISTAN ANNOUNCES SQUAD FOR T20 WORLD CUP AND AUSTRALIA SERIES
Diana Baig has been called back into the Pakistani squad for the forthcoming ODI and T20I series in Australia. The seasoned seamer missed the home series against Ireland. She had been sidelined for several months with a shoulder issue. In the Asia Cup group stage match against Thailand, she made her final Pakistani appearance.
Leggie Tuba Hassan and left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal have both joined the team for the T20 world cup after missing the Ireland series. They had injuries in their index fingers and hands, respectively. Tuba, Javeria Khan, and Aiman Anwar will all be in the travelling reserves for the ODI series in Australia. Sadia has been selected for both the ODI series against Australia and the T20 world cup. However, Tuba will only be a part of the squad for the T20 world cup and will travel with Javeria Khan and Aiman Anwar.
The travelling reserves for the T20Is will be Ghulam Fatima, Sadaf Shamas, and Kainat Imtiaz, who were also named to the ODI squad. During the Ireland series, Kainat and Fatima were on the Pakistani team. Sidra Nawaz, a wicketkeeper, has been included to the squad as Muneeba Ali’s backup. The same team has been selected by Pakistan for both the world cup and the T20I series against Australia.
