NZ vs PAK Semifinals: Pakistan Reaches Finals of T20 World Cup 2022

It’s amazing how Pakistan’s plans are coming together as they advance to their first T20 World Cup final in 13 years. Babar and Rizwan, the opening duo that has been scrutinized so much. They rose to the occasion today by scoring fifty each and making 105 run partnership. Babar scored 53 off 42 while Rizwan scored 57 off 43. Not much work was required after that. M Haris came in to bat and scored a 26-ball 30. Shan Masood scored the final runs for the team.

Once again, their bowling was outstanding as they held New Zealand to 152. It all fell in place and in the end, we saw cheers on the ground and in the Pakistan camp on reaching the T20 World Cup Finals.

NZ vs PAK Semifinals: 1st Innings

Shaheen gave Pakistan a wonderful start by dismissing Finn Allen in the end. Conway and Kane appeared to be in a determined stand until Shadab’s powerful hit shattered it, but Kane knew he had to bat through with the best playing enforcers. In a semifinal of the T20 World Cup, Mitchell once again prevailed while Phillips failed.

After 10 overs, things didn’t look good for New Zealand, but at the drinks break, they came together and scored 28 runs off the following 13 balls to turn things around. They also pushed the ball into holes and consistently scored twos to prevent any slowdown despite the lack of goals. Afridi is the best bowler, but the others were also well-behaved.

NZ vs PAK Semifinals: Match Analysis

The reason New Zealand has saved them with the bat today and on several other occasions recently in ICC competitions is their capacity to remain composed under duress. It’s not a hit-through-the-line pitch; it was a two-paced pitch. They also had one of the strongest assaults under these circumstances. Southee, Santner, Boult, and Sodhi. The struggle was only of the mind and we saw Pakistan overtaking the opponents quite happily. Pakistan maintained control of their wickets and build one partnership in the beginning that set the tone for them with the return of Babar-Rizwan. As a result we them reaching T20 World Cup Finals.

As was already noted, up to the Super 12s, New Zealand had the greatest fielding percentage in the competition. Unfortunately for them, they missed 3 catches and a few run-outs tonight, which only made matters worse as Babar Azam (dropped on 0) took advantage of the opportunity to compile his best World Cup score and create a 100-plus partnership with Rizwan (making them the first pair to have three 100-plus stands in T20 WCs). They dropped 3 and held 19 catches (before the semis). This was one big factor for them to lose control in the match.
