Reports Suggest Bumrah, & Harshal set to come back for T20 World Cup in Australia

Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel are expected to rejoin the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. Although it may seem obvious that the team’s two most important bowlers would be making a comeback, their fitness is a key component, and is thought that both are fit and ready to make a comeback.

Due to separate injuries, Bumrah and Harshal did not participate in India’s Asia Cup campaign. Harshal was side-lined with a strain, and Bumrah had been side-lined since July with a back injury. Cricbuzz reported earlier today that both bowlers have already regained their fitness and had trained at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Four pacers made up the Asia Cup team: all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Avesh Khan. Avesh might be the one to die among them. No information is currently available regarding Mohammed Shami, whose exclusion from the Asia Cup team has drawn strong criticism from experts and commentators.

One pacer and one spinner will be the obvious replacements since their return is almost certain, forcing positions to be created in the current squad. Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, and Axar Patel, who filled in for Ravindra Jadeja late in the game, were the four spinners on the Asia Cup team.

Although a final decision will be made by the selection committee after consulting with the team management, Bishnoi may be one of those to move on.

With the incoming of both Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah the Indian Squad will look pretty good and the bowling department will be on point, India struggled with fast bowlers in the recent Asia Cup campaign, and the series against South Africa and Australia will tell us how well did the Indian team improve in terms of Bowling department.

The upcoming home T20I series against Australia and South Africa will allow the selectors to monitor Bumrah and Harshal’s development. The World Cup in Australia starts on October 16, the selection committee meeting is likely to happen by September 15.
