IND VS NZ 1ST ODI: Shreyas, Sundar Push India to 306 in 1st Innings

IND VS NZ 1ST ODI: The first ODI between India and New Zealand is on. Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand, decided to bowl in the opening ODI in Auckland. Batting first India has scored 306 for 7. The hosts need 307 runs for the win.

IND VS NZ 1ST ODI 1ST INNINGS UPDATE

India surpasses 300 thanks to Washington Sundar’s late blitz. He gave a flourish toward the finish while being on fire outside. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill’s opening stand of 124 runs gave India a good start. But as they dropped to 160/4, a run of wickets threatened to scuttle the innings.

Shreyas Iyer managed to keep it together though, starting out shaky before picking up speed and finding strong company in Sanju Samson and then Washington to finish the inning well. According to Washington himself, it’s still merely a par score. Although there was some movement with the new ball, once the danger has passed, the pitch appears to be fairly excellent for batting.

From New Zealand, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson took 3 wickets each that sums most of the bowling effort. Because of his bowling in death overs and Sundar’s hard hitting, Southee was tge most expensive bowler. Adam Milne took 1 wicket. All the spinners were wicketless.

IND VS NZ 1ST ODI: What Washington Sundar said:

Talking about his blitzing innings of 37 off 16 at the right time. Washington Sundar said, “It really worked today, it was great to get some runs. I have to let my instincts go through, I also plans my shots, there’s a program. It’s important to get the timing right, along with the power. It’s a par score, if we bowl well we’ll be able to win this.”
