England Women’s ODI Squad: England Women’s team has named their squad for the forthcoming ODI series against India. Freya Kemp, a rookie, and Alice Capsey, both of whom were named to the team, are all set to make their professional debuts. The duo thrived in the recent T20I series against India, which resulted in a series victory over the Strong Indian team.
This ODI Series will be a part of the ODI Championship, and each game is significant. Given how competitive both teams are, watching which one has the ultimate chuckle will be interesting to watch out for. England Women will be hoping that their recent success continues.
Amy Jones will continue to lead England in the ODI series against India, while Alice Capsey and Freya Kemp have earned their first ODI call-ups following their outstanding performance in the T20 format against India.
These three matches, scheduled to begin on September 18 and are a part of the new ICC Women’s Championship cycle, will count toward both teams’ chances of qualifying for the Women’s World Cup in 2025, making them crucial for both sides.
Talking about the excitement around the England women’s team the head coach Lisa Keightley stated saying “Amy did a great job as captain and she was ably supported by Sophie so we want them to carry on what they’ve been doing. It’s another big series, especially with points counting towards ICC Women’s World Cup qualification, and with the summer ending at Lord’s there’s a lot to be excited about.”
Lisa Keightley’s stint as England’s head coach will come to an end as she chose not to continue her term past the summer. “I was really happy of the way the squad worked together to win the Vitality T20I series, when star players are absent, other players will occasionally stand up and grab the opportunity, and I thought we really accomplished that.”
