On the fine evening of July 18th, the test captain of England has announced his retirement from England’s ODI team left all shocked.

Stoke took to his social media his World Cup-winning image in which he was seen standing with the 2019 ICC World Cup trophy.

He wrote a big caption with the image, where he describe why he opted to take retirement this early from the 50-over format.

“I will play my last game for England in ODI cricket on Tuesday in Durham. I have decided to retire from this format. This has been an incredibly tough decision to make. I have loved every minute of playing with my mates for England. We have had an incredible journey on the way.

As hard as a decision as this was to come to, it’s not as hard as dealing with the fact I can’t give my teammates 100% of myself in this format anymore. The England shirt deserves nothing less from anyone who wears it.”

The newly announced test captain of team England said he cannot play 3 formats as he feels his body can’t manage such tight schedules and cannot a place of somebody good who can to well for the team.

“Three formats are just unsustainable for me now. Not only do I feel that my body is letting me down because of the schedule and what is expected of us, but I also feel that I am taking the place of another player who can give Jos and the rest of the team their all. It’s time for someone else to progress as a cricketer and make incredible memories like I have over the past 11 years.”

He further said that he will continue to play in the test and T20 cricket.

“I will give everything I have to Test cricket, and now, with this decision, I feel I can also give my total commitment to the T20 format, he said.

Stokes will play the final game for England in 50-over format on Tuesday against South Africa in Durham.

Netizens ask Virat Kohli to follow Ben Stokes path

Under the comment section of Ben Stokes post, while some are congratulating him for his contributions to the England Cricket, some asking the reason why he left the ODI cricket in just 31 years of age, while the biggest and shocking thing one can see in the comments are people are targeting Virat Kohli and asking him to follow Ben Stokes path.

While referring to what Stokes said, “I feel that I am taking the place of another. It’s time for someone else to progress as a cricketer and make incredible memories like I have over the past 11 years.” Netizens are demanding Virat Kohli to understand the hint and do the same.

The ex-skipper of India is currently struggling with his form and he can’t manage to score big runs in any format of the game even after starting the innings in a positive way.

In the recently concluded England’s tour, Kohli only managed to 11 and 20 runs. While after missing the first T-20 due to workload, he played scored just 12 in two T20 games.

In ODIs too he failed to leave any impact and played knocks of 16 and 17 in the second and third ODIs.

However, if we look at the records of Virat Kohli, then no one can question on his place in the Indian time as in his 13-year career as of now, the run-machine has scored a breath taking 23,726 runs till now. And he is on the 7th place in the list of players who have scored most runs in international cricket.

While the former captain of India is on 3rd place in the list of players with most centuries in international cricket with 70. He is only behind Australia great Ricky Ponting (71), and the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (100) in the list.
