Adelaide Strikers Strengths and Weaknesses
Overview of Adelaide Strikers Strengths and Weaknesses
With Chris Lynn and Cameron Boyce joining de Grandhomme and Hose as newcomers, Adelaide Strikers have an exciting squad for the BBL12.
The all-time highest run scorer in the Big Bash, Lynn, a long-time member of the Brisbane Heat, will only be available for the first 11 group games before departing for the UAE to play for Gulf Giants in the ILT20.
However, they have lost a number of significant players, including Fawad Ahmed, Matt Renshaw, and Jono Wells. For the past two years, the 2017 BBL Champions have been a potent team. Strikers nonetheless managed to make the playoffs last season despite missing many notable players.
Their disciplined bowling attack, led by Rashid Khan, who manages the flow of runs in the middle overs of the innings, is their key strength.
The Strikers improved after starting the tournament with just two victories in eight games, winning five of their next six games to place fourth in the regular season standings.
They maintained their excellent form, defeating Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder in the elimination and eliminator rounds, respectively, but were unable to advance to the championship game after falling to Sydney Sixers by four wickets.
Let’s Dive into the Adelaide Strikers’ Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths of Adelaide Strikers
Adelaide Strikers is a complete all-around team with good batsmen, bowlers and fielders who can the situation of the game in a matter of time.
Especially their disciplined bowling attack, led by Rashid Khan, who manages the flow of runs in the middle overs of the innings, is their (Strikers) key to their strength who has the ability to turn the match in their favour at any given point in time.
Top Order Batting: With only 215 runs scored at an average of 17.91 during the BBL – 11 season, Lynn had a terrible season. The Northamptonshire Steelbacks’ most recent T20 Blast performances, though, show that he is once again at his best.
He amassed 516 runs at 64.50, a strike rate of 159.25, two unbeaten centuries, four half-centuries, 45 fours, and 29 sixes in 11 games.
Finishing Ability: In the No. 4 department, Hose could likely cause some harm. After all, the English player leads the format with a strike rate of more than 145. Rashid is also a ticking time bomb further down the order, as evidenced by his T20 World Cup shenanigans against Australia. Rashid is also a ticking time bomb further down the order, as evidenced in his T20 World Cup shenanigans against Australia.
Bowling is the most Influential Strength of Adelaide Strikers
After leading the wicket-taking rankings the previous season with 30 kills and an 8.33 economy, Siddle will be quite enticing. He finished 10 ahead of teammate Rashid and five ahead of Hayden Kerr, AJ Tye, and other competitors.
Rashid Khan in his first five seasons with the club, he scored 365 runs at a strike rate of 155.31, took 92 wickets with an economy of 6.44, and was one of Adelaide’s adopted sons. He never had a season with fewer than 16 wickets taken.
With 49 wickets in 39 games, Wes Agar has established himself as a crucial player in the attack, while Henry Thornton is another exciting attacker. Prior to BBL12, the right-arm had only participated in nine T20 matches, but she already had 14 wickets, all but one of which came from the Big Bash last year.
Weakness of Adelaide Strikers going into BBL 12 Season
Gillespie’s top order is severely lacking due to the absence of Head and Carey. Jake Weatherald is a player that is so exciting to own when he is at his best, but it hasn’t happened in a few BBL seasons over the last few years, he averaged 17.75. He should bat higher this season even if he occasionally hit the lower previous season.
The Strikers’ main problem is that the majority of their runs are scored by Jake Weatherald, Travis Head, and Alec Carey. If they fail for one match their batting becomes weak. too much reliance is what is causing them the losses in the previous season.
Now the same thing is with Rashid Khan, who is been relied upon too much and the same goes with him. If he does perform then the bowling unit struggles to pick up wickets and give away cheap runs.
Strikers if they want to succeed in this edition of the BBL then they have to not rely on their main players always instead the whole team must work as a unit and overcome the difficult situations during the games to become successful and lift the trophy during BBL season 12
