BBL 12 Finals race:Aaron Finch’s splendid unbeaten knock of 63 in just 54 helped the Renegades to advance to the BBL finals race with 14 points at the table.

In a do or die match for both the Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers, it was Aaron Finch’s classic knock that provided edge to his side, Melbourne Renegades and eliminated the Adelaide Strikers from the finals race.

Invited to bat, the Sydney Thunder side only managed to post 142 on board in their 20-over quota, with only Alex Carey fared to play a good knock of 65 in 47.

Renegades, in reply faced a shaky start as they lost their top three for just 16, but the skipper Finch and Matthew Critchley then steadied the ship, with Critchley walked back after scoring decent 35, but Finch remained unbeaten till the end.

With this win, Melbourne Renegades became the third team after Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers to qualify for the finals race of BBL 12.

What’s next in BBL?

It’s not in the hands of the team, who got all out for just 15 this season, as their result will decide whether the excitement to see the final five carry forward to the last group stage game tomorrow or not.

If Sydney Thunder (12 points) managed to win over Brisbane Heat (13 points), then they will qualify along with Brisbane, and knock the Hobart Hurricanes (10 points) out of the competition.

But a defeat for Thunder will provide the Hurricanes a chance to make it to the finals race with a win over Melbourne Stars in BBL 12 last group stage game.
