Star Indian batters KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are back in the squad as the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the 17-member team for the Asia Cup 2023.
As expected, Rohit Sharma will lead the side, while the young Tilak Varma is also included in the squad.
Jasprit Bumrah, Jasprit Bumrah, who made a return after 11-month break due to injury and is currently leading Indian side in Ireland, also part of the squad that further strengthen the Indian pace bowling department with Mohd Shami, Mohd Siraj, and Prasid Krishna, are the other fast bowlers.
The batting line-up looks solid as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be the crucial players in the team, including Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer.
Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are the all-rounders selected for the marquee event, while Kuldeep Yadav named as the lone spinner apart form spin-all rounders.
The tournament will begin on August 30 with a match between Pakistan and Nepal at Multan, Pakistan.

The highly awaited encounter between India and Pakistan will take place on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Pakistan will host three group stage matches and one Super Four event. The rest of the event will take place in Sri Lanka. The final will take held in Colombo on September 17.
The top two teams from each group will compete in the Super Four stage. In the Super Four stage, each team will meet each other once. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will compete in the final.
