Team-Wise Youngest To Feature In T20 WC 2022

India’s young and untested bunch went on to win the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. This gave rise to the notion that T20 is a team-wise youngest players format. Fit, young, agile, and hungry players are the recipe for success in T20 cricket.

The various leagues that followed started noticing this pattern. It remains largely a young person’s game but the experienced have also shown the gumption to stay in it too. There will be a few youngsters who will be keen to make a mark in this edition of the T20 World Cup.

We Look at Team-Wise Youngest Players To Feature in T20 World Cup 2022:

#1 Tim David – Australia | DOB: 16 March 1996

The youngest member of the Australian squad is aged 26 years. It speaks volumes about Australia’s unit assembled this year. The defending champions are expecting a lot out of Tim David. He will be playing his maiden T20 World Cup this year. Expect fireworks!

#2 Harry Brook – England | DOB: 22 February 1999

One of the most hyped youngsters in recent times, Harry Brook has already showcased his class. In a lineup that is sure to miss Jonny Bairstow, Brook has a golden opportunity to cement his place. Aged 23, he will be keenly followed during the T20 World Cup.

#3 Naseem Shah – Pakistan | DOB: 15 February 2003

He was one of the finds of the Asia Cup this season. The 19-years old Naseem Shah set the stage on fire with his new ball exploits especially. He played a stunning cameo against Afghanistan to win the game for his side. Shah will relish the fast pitches in Australia during the T20 World Cup.

#4 Tristan Stubbs – South Africa | DOB: 14 August 2000

He got a few heads turning in the IPL Mega auction when Mumbai Indians picked him up. But his moment under the sun came in the game against England when he single-handedly kept South Africa in the hunt. There will be a lot riding on Tristan Stubbs, especially with the injury to Rassie Van Der Dussie. The 22-year-old Stubbs will be keen to make his presence felt in the T20 World Cup 2022.

#5 Arshdeep Singh – India | DOB: 05 February 1999

He is the youngest member of the Indian team who will be playing in the T20 World Cup this edition. Arshdeep Singh was part of India’s U-19 World Cup winning squad in 2018. The left-arm seamer is expected to add variety to India’s pace bowling attack. All of 23, there are huge expectations from the speedster.

#6 Finn Allen – New Zealand | DOB: 02 April 1999

He is one of the most exciting prospects in world cricket currently. Finn Allen is yet to completely justify the hype that surrounds him. In a team that relies mainly on its experienced seniors, Allen will be a lease of fresh air. The 23-year-old, Allen will be hoping to marry promise with performance in this T20 World Cup.

#7 Mohammad Saleem | DOB: 09 September 2002

The 20-year Mohammad Saleem is a welcome addition to Afghanistan’s pace battery. Afghanistan will need to manage the youngster well as Australia can be quite an intimidating place to make a World Cup debut.

#8 Hasan Mahmud | DOB: 12 October 1999

The 22-year-old, Hasan Mahmud, is known to ramp up the pace. He has made a strong name for himself in the domestic circuit. The T20 World Cup in Australia will be a big challenge for Mahmud. If he can hit the straps straightaway, Bangladesh will be a happier side.
