Following their clash on Friday in the last game of the Super Four round, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will square off once more on Sunday night in Dubai for the 2022 Asia Cup Final.
After facing defeat in the opening game of the Asia Cup on August 27 against Afghanistan, the Sri Lanka bounced back strongly and went on to win all their remaining 4 games to claim a spot in the finals.
Their victories against Bangladesh and Afghanistan were enough to prove them a decent team, but after defeating and knocking out the mighty Indian side and then outlasting Pakistan in the last match of Super 4 stage on Friday, Sri Lanka proved that they are a complete team with many match winners.
Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by five wickets in their most recent meeting, which took place in the sixth Super 4 stage match on Friday. This gave them an advantage over the men in green going into the final as they will play as the slight favourites to win the competition.
Sri Lanka, the five-time defending winner of the Asia Cup, will try to maintain its winning streak and capture their sixth title.
Pakistan, who is not a weak team either, will compete on Sunday in an effort to claim their third Asia Cup crown.
