Is The Future Bright with Arshdeep and Bumrah in The Bowling Attack?: Australia and South Africa Series are coming up for the Indian side as they in the verge of getting knocked out of the Asia Cup 2022 after losing back-to-back matches in the Super 4. But we have to look at the future and say that India needs a stable pace attack if they want to win any major trophies.
One such pair to look out for in future tours is Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh.
Jasprit Bumrah:
Across all formats, Jasprit Bumrah has consistently performed well for India. He is now receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after a back ailment forced him to withdraw from the Asia Cup 2022.
Bumrah represents India regularly in all three game formats and is regarded as one of the top fast bowlers in the world. The Indian team management has started restricting the effort of its all-format players, including Bumrah, between significant tours in response to the players’ complaints about the demanding schedule.
Bumrah’s absence was clear during India’s defeat to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022.
Arshdeep Singh:
Before the IPL 2022 season, Arshdeep was one of only two players retained by Punjab Kings, and for good reason. Arshdeep took 18 wickets from 12 innings in the IPL 2021, at 8.27 runs per over. Although Arshdeep doesn’t yet have express speed, his ability to bowl full and at the stumps in the 16th through 20th overs makes him a promising potential. He has also demonstrated the ability to deceive the batsman by preparing the field for a specific type of delivery before pitching a different ball to surprise the opponent. Arshdeep, who is constantly changing, is quickly becoming likely for India.
Arshdeep Singh on Sunday dropped a catch in the final overs against Pakistan which eventually cost India the match after that catch drop there has been a lot of criticism against Arshdeep, Twitter was filled with both positive and negative reactions. But skipper Rohit Sharma came to the rescue when he stated “Yes, he Arshdeep himself was disappointed, but then again if you saw his confidence in the final over in the Pakistan game, he nailed the yorker well and he got Asif Ali out eventually. If he was not been mentally there, the execution would not have happened, but in his case, he ran to his place and took the ball. Today also I thought he bowled pretty well in the last two overs,”
Sharma concluded by saying “He is a very confident lad, and that is why he is here, ahead of a lot of players who are sitting at their homes. He is a very confident lad and I have not seen many like him early in his career. As a captain and a coach we are very happy with how he takes his game and goes about his business with the ball.”
If Bumrah is fit, it will be a good chance for India as they will face Australia and South Africa before competing in the World Cup. We can see what the pace attack looks like before leading into the world cup.
