Asia Cup 2022 – IND vs PAK: Key Players Battle

India vs Pakistan Key Players Battle:

It is going to be a high-voltage encounter between the arch-rivals. India and Pakistan face off against each other almost 10 months post their T20 World Cup 2021 encounter. Pakistan was buoyed with their maiden World Cup win over India across formats. Here in this article, we talk about India vs Pakistan Key Players Battle.

Despite their win, the numbers in World Cup still read 12-1 in favour of India. Pakistan will be keen to replicate the success in the Asia Cup game too. India on the other hand will be eager to settle scores again.

We look at India vs Pakistan Key Players Battle ahead of this game:

#1 Suryakumar Yadav vs Haris Rauf

In the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Wasim, the onus of Pakistani pace bowling falls on Haris Rauf. The speedster is known to step on the gas during crucial moments. He will be the key who will do most of the work for Pakistan in the middle overs.

Haris Rauf will look to challenge arguably the best T20I batter in the world, Suryakumar Yadav. Surya has had a fantastic start to his career, especially in the T20Is. He can hit the good balls for boundaries. It will be a fine contest between two key players from either side.

#2 Hardik Pandya vs Shadab Khan

A fit-again Hardik Pandya provides immense value to the Indian team. He has been in sublime form right since IPL 2022. The IPL-winning captain, Hardik is going to be India’s biggest weapon in the middle and end overs. He will be up against the canny Shadab Khan. The wrist-spinner is known for picking wickets in the middle overs. It will be an enticing battle between two key all-rounders.

#3 Babar Azam vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

The last time when these two sides met, Bhuvneshwar Kumar looked like a pale shadow of himself. His first over was all over the park. Pakistan got off to a great start chasing a sub-par score. The early momentum swung the game decisively in Pakistan’s favour.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar since then has been in fine form. He has been bowling the best he ever did. Kumar will challenge Babar Azam with the new ball. If Babar is able to counter the early swing, he will be in for the long haul against India once again.

#4 Mohammad Rizwan vs Arshdeep Singh

He was one of the batsmen of the tournament in the T20 World Cup 2021. Mohammad Rizwan keeps the scoreboard ticking with his presence at the crease. His street-smartness comes in handy in tackling different challenges. India had no answers to Rizwan’s busy approach the last time. They though have an ace in the form of Arshdeep Singh. The young left-arm seamer brings great variety to India’s well-rounded bowling attack.
