Asia Cup 2022: India vs Pakistan – The much anticipated Asia Cup 2022 schedule has been released, with India scheduled to face Pakistan on August 28 in Dubai as their first opponent. On August 28, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka square off to start the competition.

India, Pakistan, and one more qualified team are grouped together in Group A. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh makes up Group B.

The competition’s finale is scheduled for September 11 in Dubai. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced the schedule on Twitter, writing, “The wait is now over as the battle for Asian supremacy resumes on August 27 with the all-important final on September 11.”

The 15th Asia Cup will provide a great opportunity for practice before the ICC T20 World Cup.

At first, Sri Lanka was supposed to host the multi-nation Asian competition. However, the event had to be moved to the UAE due to the continuing political unrest in the island country.

The change of host nation was officially announced in a statement made on Wednesday by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

According to a statement from the Asian Cricket Council, “Considering the current circumstances in Sri Lanka, the ACC after the considerable discussion has unanimously agreed that it would be appropriate to shift the competition from Sri Lanka to UAE.”

Although Sri Lanka recently hosted Australia for three one-day internationals, five twenty-first century internationals, and three tests, and is presently hosting Pakistan, the country’s condition has lately deteriorated, resulting in large-scale demonstrations in the capital. The head of state left the country as a result of this.

SLC President Shammi Silva remarked, “We were greatly looking forward to welcoming our Asian friends in Sri Lanka for the much-anticipated Asia Cup.”

“While I fully support the ACC’s decision to relocate the Asia Cup to the UAE considering the current context and significance of the event,” he continued, “Sri Lanka Cricket will work closely with the ACC and the Emirates Cricket Board to ensure that we still have an exciting edition of the Asia Cup.”
