Brisbane Heat defeated Melbourne Stars by six wickets in the 30th match of Women’s Big Bash League 2024-25, moving them up to third position on points table. Let’s look at MS-W vs BH-W Highlights.

After starting the innings on a decent note, the Melbourne Stars faced a middle overs struggle.  

From losing their first wicket on 31 to 96 for 8 in 16.3 overs, the Stars found it hard to collect runs during the middle overs.

Kim Garth provided some relief with her 20-ball 31* that helped the stars to end their innings at 138 in 20 overs.  

Lucy Hamilton starred with the ball as she bagged a fifer and gave up just eight runs in her four overs. She won the player of the match award for her splendid spell.  

Rodrigues, Knott power Stars to victory  

Chasing a target of 139, Brisbane did not have the best of the starts after losing their first wicket early, as Grace Harris got out on six.  

Her opening partner Georgia Redmayne was run-out on 19 during the seventh over of the chase.  

Reliable batter Jemimah Rodrigues and Charli Knott then added 51 for the third wicket that steadied their ship. Rodrigues missed her half-century by five, as her knock ended at 45 off 31.  

Knott remained unbeaten at 35 off 36, while skipper Jess Jonassen tried to finish the game early with her 11-ball 17.  

It was Melbourne Stars fifth loss in the season in seven outings, and they now need to win all of their games with good margin in order to remain in playoffs contention.
