WBBL 2022, Brisbane Heat Vs Melbourne Renegades: Brisbane Heat Women win by 26 runs

HEA Vs REN Match Highlights

The Heat defeated the Renegades for the second time in four days thanks in large part to Georgia Voll. Who made her mark with a game-changing first half-century. Let us look at HEA Vs REN Match Highlights in detail.

The foundation for Brisbane Heat‘s third victory against the Weber. And was established by a breakthrough performance from Georgia Voll. And a superb performance from spinner Charli Knott as they defeated Melbourne Renegades by a score of 26 in Adelaide.

The Heat’s teenage talent showed a good game at Karen Rolton oval, with Voll scoring 52 runs with 37 balls. It was her first debut half-century which helped heat to get 168 for 8.

Fellow 19-year-old Knott then took 3-19 off her four overs, including the key wickets of Hayley Matthews and English Batter Eve Jones to help bowl the Renegades out for 137.

When Voll, a prospective Australian player, took the crease in the sixth over with Georgia Redmayne (3) and Danielle Wyatt (6) already back in the dugout. She displayed poise under pressure during her 12 overs in the middle.

The Heat was subsequently reduced to 3-31 when Grace Harris (20) was run out at the non-end strikers. After a straight drive from Voll bounced off bowler Hayley Matthews and into the stumps.

A 53-run partnership between Voll and New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr (27 off 22) was only ended when Matthews’ direct hit caught the Kiwi short after a mix-up.

When Knott dismissed Matthews for a duck and Sophie Molineux (9) was declared out after being caught behind off Nicola Hancock’s bowling, the Renegades found themselves in difficulty early in the chase.

From 2-9, it was quickly 3-15 when Knott had Jones stranded lbw, stringing the Renegades further despite the absence of the Player of the Tournament Harmanpreet Kaur (who would miss the entire tournament due to a back condition).

Josie Dooley (40 off 28) and Courtney Webb (47no off 40), Renegades from South Australia. Made the most of their home field advantage. While a furious 27 off 11 from Ellie Falconer, another SA native who smacked two enormous sixes, sparked hopes of an improbable victory.

However, the Heat maintained their composure, and after Falconer was dismissed by Kerr in the 14th over. They cruised through the Renegades’ back end to secure a 26-run victory.

After defeating the Renegades in Mackay on Tuesday, it was the Heat’s second victory over them in as many days.

Along with Knott, fast bowlers Hancock (2-26) and Courtney Sippel (2-13) as well as leg-spinner Kerr (3-26) caused damage.

The Heat are next in action against Sydney Thunder on Tuesday.
