PAK-W vs UAE-W Highlights 9th Match for Women’s Asia Cup 2024

PAK-W vs UAE-W Highlights, Pakistan defeated UAE by ten wickets on Tuesday and all but claimed their spot in the semifinals of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024.  

The Women’s cricket team of Pakistan took no extra time to chase down a below par total of 104 with 35 balls yet to spare.

Earlier, the consistent line and length bowling performance from Pakistan bowlers helped them restrict the UAE to only 103 runs.

Opted to bowl, Pakistan bowlers performed exactly as per their plan and did not allow any UAE batter to settle at the crease.  

Despite adding 29 for the opening stand, UAE were still on backfoot due to the usage of 40 balls to score those runs and lost their first wicket in pressure.  

Opener and skipper Esha Rohit Oza (16), while her opening partner Theertha Sathish played a knock of 40, most by any UAE batter in the game.

Apart from openers only Khushi Sharma among the other batters managed to go past double-digit mark.  

Sadia Iqbal remained the most economical bowler for team Pakistan, as she bowled a tight spell of 4-0-11-2. Nashra Sandhu and Tuba Hussan also grabbed 2-2 wickets. Captain Nida Dar secured 1.  

Pakistan chased down 104 to enter Asia Cup  

Pakistan openers looked in a bit hurry, as they finished the task of chasing 104 in only 14.1 overs.

Gull Feroza played the most number of deliveries during the run-chase and also completed her second fifty in Women’s T20Is. Feroza hit eight fours during her knock of 62* from 55, and also won the player of the match.

Muneeba Ali provided full-support to Feroza from one end and remained unbeaten at 37 off 30 in the run-chase. 

The solid run-chase marks Pakistan’s second 10-wicket win in Women’s T20Is, as well as the second occasion when Feroza and Muneeba added 100-plus as openers in shortest format.

With this win, team Pakistan now has four points after three games and is in pole position to claim the semifinal spot. Nepal will need to beat India with a big margin to leapfrog Pakistan on net run-rate.
