- India’s complete surrender against Australia in the 2nd innings of the first test drew many reactions from the Twitter world. While there were many who were appreciative of how the Australian seamers bowled there were plenty of experts who mocked, teased, and questioned India’s famed batting line-up. It was the first instance of the top 6 batsmen in test cricket not getting to double figures.
The Indian batting was an absolute no show in the 2nd innings of this test match. Leading the social media reaction trend was Aussie great, Shane Warne. He felt that Australian fast bowlers especially Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood were outstanding. Warne felt sorry for the Indian batsmen who seemed to have no clue against such top quality seam bowling. He said what happened in that session was completely unbelievable.
Wow!! What a bowling display that was from Pat Cummins & Josh Hazlewood here in Adelaide. Just outstanding. Have to feel for the Indian batsman as never saw that coming – it was one of those days where the batsman nicked everything & didn’t play and miss at all ! Unbelievable…

Reaction from other cricketing legends:
One of India’s finest openers ever, Virender Sehwag felt that the Indian team has completely surrendered against the Australian team. He thought losing 6 wickets for just 19 runs on board was not the right thing to do.
19/6 , the earliest 6 wickets India have lost in their test history.
Surrender kar diye bilkul yaar.
Par thodi umeed abhi bhi karni chahiye, kya pata, kuch jaadoo ho jaaye. pic.twitter.com/89r8z20ef8— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) December 19, 2020
Another one of the openers who played for India, Wasim Jaffer rightly pointed out that feeling high about something and suddenly feeling low about that particular thing is an experience in itself. He couldn’t come to terms with how the match transpired.
कभी-कभी अपार आनंद, अपार दु:ख में कैसे परिवर्तित हो जाता है, इसका अनुभव मैंने आज किया। #AUSvINDtest

A mercurial left-hander, Vinod Kambli who had a troubled India career questioned India’s lack of fighting spirit. He asked who would have thought that the match will be ending in 2 and half days.
What a phenomenal bowling performance on Day 3 of a Test match by the Hazlewood-Cummins duo
Our batsmen looked clueless…and those outside edges 🤦🏻♂️Till yesterday, who would have thought this match might end in 2 and a half days#AUSvIND
