India’s Test Vice-Captain Ajinkya Rahane Turned 32

Happy Birthday Ajinkya Rahane:

India ‘s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane turned 32 on Saturday. The fans as well as the cricket fraternity all around the world wished him with warm birthday wishes.

By posting a picture of him and listing his career statistics, the ICC took on its official handle on Twitter and wished Rahane on his special occasion.

“175 international appearances, 7,540 runs, 14 centuries, 145 catches.The No.9 batsman in the @MRFWorldwide ICC Test Rankings.Happy birthday, @ajinkyarahane88!” the world’s cricket governing body wrote.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha also extended warm birthday greetings to Rahane. 

“Wishing you a day filled with happiness and a year filled with joy. Happy birthday! @ajinkyarahane88,” he tweeted.

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer also wished ‘Ajju’ very happy birthday and said that Rahane’s daughter hopefully keeping you on her toes & helping you in your footwork ahead of the busy cricket season.

“Happy Birthday Ajju @ajinkyarahane88. Wishing you a very happy, healthy, and successful year ahead. Love to the family. Hope little Aarya is keeping you on your toes & helping you with your footwork for the busy season ahead when cricket resumes,” Jaffer wrote on Twitter.

In the meantime, on his birthday, BCCI wished him loads of success.

“Happy Birthday, @ajinkyarahane88. Here’s wishing you loads of runs and success ahead #TeamIndia,” the BCCI wrote.

Apart from the cricket fraternity, on the occasion of Rahane ‘s birthday, the fans took to social media as well.

At the Emirates Old Trafford in August 2011, Rahane made his international debut in Twenty20I against England. In September 2011 his debut in ODI was against the same side. 

Meanwhile, during the test match against Australia at Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi in March 2013, the Indian batsman received his maiden national cap in the longest format of the match.

Since then, 375 runs in 20 T20Is have been registered, and 90 ODIs have run for the Men in blue.

In 65 tests he’s played so far, Rahane has amassed 4,203 runs.

The IPL 2020 was all set for Delhi Capitals to feature Rahane, who has also smashed 3,820 runs in 140 Indian Premier League ( IPL) matches he has played up to now.

The Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI) however postponed the IPL indefinitely in April because of the coronavirus.
