Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt showed their dominance over Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers to beat the RCB Women team by 9 wickets with 34 balls to spare at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Monday.
Royal Challengers Bangalore experienced a lot of ups and downs during the first 20 overs in the fourth match of the WPL 2023, but they ultimately managed to reach 155.
But they were unaware of the Mumbai Indians’ intentions because Harmanpreet’s team was eager to end the game decisively.
Matthews played a not out knock of 77 off 38. While Nat Sciver remained unbeaten on 55 in just 29 balls in the process.

After winning the toss, Smriti started singing in her style, and provided a great start to Bangalore. Issy Wong has been smashed for three boundaries. The opener lofted the pacer over mid-on to score 13 runs in the over after first hitting a superb drive through the covers, an edge that caused the ball to fly to the third man boundary, and those two shots.
While Mumbai has recovered and taken control of the game inside the Powerplay, Hayley Matthews has further damaged Bangalore by removing Heather Knight for a duck and packing off Smriti. Bangalore’s momentum has been lost as a result of four wickets falling in the space of two overs.
With a double blow, Saika Ishaque has stopped Bangalore’s batting, and this is an excellent spell of spin bowling. When Disha Kasat was yorked by a ball that snuck past the defence and struck the base of the stumps, the left-arm spinner’s first victim was Sophie Devine, who slog-swept straight into the hands of the fielder at deep mid-wicket.
With a couple of boundaries, Kanika Ahuja helped Bangalore reach the 100-point mark. She also kept the pace going by playing an aggressive style and challenging the bowlers alongside Richa Ghosh.
Ahuja’s tenure at the wicket is put to an end by Pooja Vastrakar.
Shreyanka’s impressive cameo comes to an end when she is caught in front of the wickets, costing Bangalore its appeal. The batter did, however, put up a significant 15-ball 23 that helped Bangalore nearly surpass the 150-run threshold, which seemed unlikely at the halfway point.

Mumbai has gotten off to a solid start thanks to Yastika Bhatia, who has joined the contest with a lot of good intentions. Mumbai’s pursuit has gotten off to a solid start thanks to a few boundaries, one through the backward square area and another sweep across the square.
Team Mumbai faced first blow when Preeti Bose struck and trapped the dangerous Yastika Bhatia, who was out for a well-made 23 off 19 balls. Yastika attempted to steal Preeti by playing the ball across the line, but she missed it and was caught.
Nat Sciver then joined Hayley Matthew for the chase and both looked flawless in their approach and in no time brought up the 50-run partnership.
Both the international stars looked extremely comfortable on crease and completed their half-centuries during the over 150-run chase.
Hayley Matthews remained not out on 77 and Nat Sciver played an impressive knock of unbeaten 55 to help their side comfortably stay on top at the points table.
