Grand Felicitation Ceremony for the Champions
To celebrate this historic achievement, the Cricket Association of Mizoram (CAM) organised a special felicitation programme at Hotel Floria Rooftop. The event honoured the Syed Mushtaq Ali Plate-winning team for their outstanding performance.
The ceremony was graced by Sports and Youth Services Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, who attended as the chief guest. CAM President Robert Lalfamkima also addressed the gathering, while detailed reports were presented by the Senior Men’s Team Manager and the Under-23 Team Manager.

Congratulating the players, Lalnghinglova Hmar termed the Plate triumph a moment of pride and inspiration for Mizoram. He encouraged the team to view this success as a stepping stone rather than a destination and to strive for greater achievements in the future.
Reflecting on his own cricketing experiences, the Minister highlighted the rapid growth of cricket in Mizoram, stressing that the sport now offers genuine career opportunities. He also urged players to remain disciplined, committed, and thankful to their families, communities, churches, and supporters across the state.
Dominant Plate Campaign Ends in Title Glory
Mizoram secured the Plate Championship by overcoming Sikkim in a closely fought final. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India’s premier domestic T20 tournament organised by the BCCI, featured 38 teams in the 2025–26 season—32 in the Elite Groups and six in the Plate Groups.
The Plate Group is designed for emerging teams, with the top two advancing to the final. Mizoram and Sikkim emerged as the finalists, with Mizoram ultimately lifting the coveted Plate title.
Promotion to Elite Group Secured
With the Plate title victory, Mizoram have earned promotion to the Elite section for the upcoming season. They will replace the lowest-ranked team from the Elite Groups, marking a significant leap forward for the state’s domestic cricket stature.
Under-23 Team Also Honoured
The felicitation ceremony also recognised the Mizoram Men’s Under-23 team, who finished as runners-up in their category. Their performance further underlined the steady progress of Mizoram’s cricket development system.
