Team India and South Africa are all set to lock horns in fifth and final T20 of the 5-match T20I series on Sunday.
Both teams reached Bengaluru to play the decider match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, with team India set to win the series against South Africa.
South Africa, on the other hand, also aiming to bounce back and will try to win the at any costs after facing 2 consecutive defeats.
Team lost the first game by 7 wickets even after giving the target of 212 in 20 overs, while their batters failed to perform in second T20 as the Rishabh Pant-led side lost the second consecutive match by 3 wickets.
However, the young side of India bounced back strongly and defeated the mighty South Africa in the third and fourth T20Is and now they will look to carry forward that momentum and try to win the 5-match T20 series by 3-2.
Both openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan provided some much-needed runs for the hosts in the series so far, and they will need to perform well in the final T20 to provide India a good start.
Shreyas Iyer, who batted at third in the opening three games, will be eager to turn things around on Friday.
This will be a testing time for the out of form current skipper of India Rishabh Pant when India takes on South Africa in the fifth T20 International here on Sunday. However, everyone is hoping to overcome his batting issues and assist the hosts in strengthening their middle overs play.
Bowlers did quite a remarkable work in the third and fourth T20 as both Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel, who took 4 and 3 wickets, respectively to restrict the visitors for just 131 in third T20.
While Avesh Khan (4) took the highest number of wickets in fourth T20 for India, followed by Yuzvendra Chahal (2), while, Harshal Patel and Axar Patel both took 1 to bowled out the visitors at just 87.
The middle order batting for the Indian squad in this series is a bit of a concern, the side that is playing without a senior player will be attempting to make up for any minor mistakes they made in their earlier outings and will endeavour to win the match to secure the series.
