Sri Lankan batsman Tharanga Paranavitana has bid farewell to international cricket, putting an end to his career with the national team that began in 2009. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has released an official statement that the 38-year-old batsman has forwarded his decision to the board. “Sri Lanka cricketer Tharanga Paranavitana has decided to retire from international cricket and has officially notified Sri Lanka Cricket of his intention,” the SLC said in the release. Paranavitana made his debut for Sri Lanka against Pakistan at National Stadium in February 21 in 2009.
