Steven Smith fined for slow over-rate against MI

Steven Smith, the captain of Rajasthan Royals had another reason to be worried apart from the loss to Mumbai Indians on Tuesday (6th October 2020) as he was fined for slow over-rate. The RR skipper fined for Rs 12 lakh with the over-rate claim being the first player for the Rajasthan Royals this season. The IPL media release stated, “As it was the first fault of RR under the code of conduct of IPL related to minimum over-rate offenses, Steven Smith was fined for Rs. 12 Lakh.” On Tuesday, in the 20th match, Mumbai Indians beat Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs, bowled out for 136 runs in a chase of 194 runs.
