Less than a week before the start of this year’s Caribbean Premier League, assistant coach Ramnaresh Sarwan of Jamaica Tallawahs has opted to skip the season for personal reasons. Tallawahs replaced Sarwan with the former West Indies spinner Ryan Austin and Vinod Maharaj in the support staff of head coach Floyd Reifer. “Sarwan called for leave for personal reasons, and that was granted,” Jeff Miller, CEO of Tallawahs, told Trinidad and Tobago Newsday. “It’s a huge loss. Sars (Sarwan) brings a lot to the game-his expertise, his experience and the way he’s handled the players over the years, so it’s a big loss.”
