On This Day in 1994: Sachin Tendulkar Ends Long Wait For Maiden ODI Hundred

Sachin Tendulkar ‘s maiden Test 100 only played his 15th international match against the top English attack in Old Trafford, but he had to wait nearly five years to get his maiden 100 in ODI cricket. The moment of breakthrough came during the Singer World Series in Sri Lanka. Against one of his favourite oppositions, Australia, Tendulkar scored his maiden 100—110 out of 130 balls, including 8 bounds and 2 sixes. No player was even close to Sachin Tendulkar’s ODI of 18,426 runs, but his limited career didn’t get off to a great start.
