Morne Morkel has signed with Brisbane Heat for the full season in the capacity of a local team, days after calling time on his three-year Surrey stint. On the other side, Sydney Thunder signed international England Sam Billings for the upcoming Big Bash League edition and at the conclusion of England’s white-ball tour of South Africa, he will join the team. Morkel, 36, last year played one game for Perth Scorchers as a replacement international player, but after obtaining permanent residency in Australia, he will be able to play as a local player for Brisbane this year.
