Despite many players losing and/or dissolving their county contracts in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pakistan’s Babar Azam will be returning to Somerset for this year’s T20 Blast, the club reported on Saturday (August 29). “I really enjoyed playing Somerset last year, and I can’t wait to get back to the club,” Azam said. “For obvious reasons, this year was very different from what we all expected, and I fully understand the difficulties that the game has faced both globally and here in England. The 25-year-old was the highest run-getter in the 2019 season, amassing 578 runs at an impressive average of 52.54.
