Pakistan emerged victorious in the first ODI against Pakistan at Centurion thanks to Babar Azam’s majestic century. Azam scored a fantastic 103 in the run-chase. His partnership with Imam-ul-Haq set the foundation. Rassie Van Der Dussen had earlier scored a century to take South Africa to 273-6. The Proteas were struggling at 55-4. Dussen’s partnership with David Miller proved to be crucial. Pakistan on the other hand, slipped from 186-1 to 203-5 in reply to South Africa’s 273. They eventually won by 3 wickets. This was Pakistan’s 9th win in 10 ODI matches. The one they lost was in the super-over.
