Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood and bowling coach will be a member of England’s backroom staff as they face his native country during an upcoming Twenty20 series of three matches, it was announced on Tuesday. Mahmood, 45, has vast experience in English county from his time with Surrey and Kent. He was a member of Pakistan’s coaching staff under Mickey Arthur until last year but quit as part of a post World Cup clear-out when the Pakistan Cricket Board did not renew the contracts of the South African and his assistants.
