Archer Dropped For Protocol Breach

England removed Jofra Archer from their squad for the second test against the West Indies, starting at Old Trafford on Thursday (16 July). The announcement was made just a few hours before the start of the test following the violation by Archer of the biosafe protocols of the team. Archer will now be in isolation for a total of five days during which two COVID-19 tests will be carried out. If tested negative on both occasions, the time of self-isolation will be removed. “I am extremely sorry for what I have done. I fully accept the consequences of my actions” Archer said.
