AB de Villiers powered RCB to a thrilling 2-wicket victory against MI in the opening game. His knock ensured RCB won an IPL opener for the first time in history. Villiers walked in at number 5 when Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Virat Kohli. He took his time initially but soon went on the offensive. Villiers attacked Rahul Chahar and Trent Boult to perfection. He almost took RCB over the line. Villiers was run-out of the 3rd last ball. His 48 off 27 balls paved way for a great victory. RCB will be hoping Villiers continues his form and they maintain their winning streak.
