I right now, all I am thinking about is staying safe at home- Vijay Shankar:

India and SunRisers Hyderabad All-rounder Vijay Shankar shared concern about the worldwide implications of the novel COVID-19

“The news about people’s plight in Italy and other parts of the world is troubling, and all I’m talking about right now is to stay safe at home and do something in my home’s comfort,” Shankar was quoted as saying in an interview with Khel Now.

Shankar, who last played in England for India during the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, is definitely eyeing a case for the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia at the upcoming Indian Premier League season.

Shankar admitted, with IPL 2020 being postponed due to coronavirus, that he hasn’t heard anything from the franchise and that things don’t look good at the moment.

I Am Sitting At Home And Doing Nothing- Shankar:

“No letter, nothing, [from SunRisers Hyderabad]. At this point, though, things do not look promising and it would be too early to comment on anything. Let’s keep the fingers crossed, and wait, “said Shankar.

Unlike other sectors, cricket also struggles a great deal during this pandemic outbreak. The Tamil Nadu-player further added that due to the prevailing circumstances, he is not thinking much about the cash-rich game.

“I’m staying at home and doing nothing at all. I don’t think much about the IPL or cricket in general because these days the coronavirus outbreak makes things very scary,” Shankar added.

With the last of Shankar’s nine T20Is coming home against Australia over a year ago, the 29-year-old player wants praiseworthy outcomes under his belt for only that will highlight his name for the T20 World Cup draw.

During the 15 matches Shankar played for SRH during IPL 2019, he would have scored 244 runs at an average of 20.33 and a strike rate of 126.42.
