The Architect of the IPL, Lalit Modi confirms relationship with Miss Universe Sushmita Sen

Lalit Modi formerly had the title of “the” name on everyone’s lips in Indian cricket. After all, the Indian businessman and cricket official was responsible for the creation of the massive Indian Premier League.

Modi recently revealed that he is dating Sushmita Sen, the first Indian Miss Universe actress.

Businessman and IPL founder Lalit Modi revealed via a social media post that he is “starting a new life finally” with his “better half” and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen in what may be dubbed the day’s “breaking the internet” news.

Lalit Modi announced the news formally on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. He uploaded a sentimental post and several images from their holiday in the Maldives and Sardinia. He also posted a few old photos of the pair from when they were young.

In another Twitter post, he clarified that “Just for clarity. Not married – just dating each other. That too it will happen one day.”

Modi was the driving force behind the creation of the Indian Premier League in 2008, a league that combined glamour with the T20 style of cricket and would go on to become the sports giant it is today. Modi demonstrated how the value of the product will have great worth even outside of India in 2009 when the IPL had to be moved to South Africa due to general elections in India.

Since 2010, Lalit Modi has lived in London. On the other hand, Sushmita Sen recently made headlines for making a comeback to the big screen with the third season of her popular online series Aarya.

Sen, however, waited until this story’s publication to make any official statements on her relationship with Lalit Modi.

He has claimed innocence in several interviews about all of the allegations made by the BCCI. For his suspected participation in a money-laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate, a special court in Mumbai had issued an arrest warrant for former Indian Premier League (IPL) head Lalit Modi in 2015 that was not subject to a bond requirement (ED).

As recently as March 2022, the UK High Court also ordered Modi to pay $800,000 to former Indian model-turned-investor Gurpreet Gill Maag in response to a lawsuit the latter had brought against the founder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) seeking millions of dollars in damages for alleged deceit and contract breach. However, the court turned down Maag’s request for Modi to be sued for deception.
