IPL 2022: Rajasthan players are likely to win the Orange and Purple caps

After a convincing seven-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second qualifier, Rajasthan Royals are atop the Orange and Purple Cap standings, advancing to their first final since the season began. Here in this article, we talk about Will Rajasthan Players Win The Orange and Purple Caps?

Jos Buttler’s brilliant performance in the first half of the league stage faded in the second, but he bounced back in the playoffs and played two outstanding innings, especially in the qualifier 2 to lead Rajasthan Royals to their first final since 2008.

The Englishman completed his fourth century of the season with an unbeaten 106 off 60 balls. He now has a fair chance of beating Virat Kohli‘s record of most centuries in a single season in the final.

Buttler showed immense dominance with his batting in the IPL 2022 and after scoring a fantastic century in the qualifier 2 game against Royal Challengers Bangalore he crossed the 800 plus mark, which only 2 players have crossed so far in the history of IPL.

He scored 824 runs in 16 innings at an average of 58.86, he now has a season total of 824 runs. He is now the third most runs scored batter in a single season, and if he continues to keep his rhythm in the finals as well he will break David Warner’s 848 runs record.

The batter with the most runs will be awarded IPL orange Cap and a cash prize of Rs. 15 lakh.

While, Yuzvendra Chahal, who was the Purple cap leader before the qualifier 2, edged past RCB’s Wanindu Hasaranga as Chahal won’t be able to take any wickets in yesterday’s game while Hasaranga took 1.

Hasaranga’s economy rate (7.54) was better than Chahal’s (7.92), allowing him to finish the season as the leading wicket-taker. The latter has no further opponents and can reclaim the Purple Cap in the final by taking a wicket or conceding an economy rate of less than or equal to 7.1.

The player with the most number of wickets will receive the Purple Cap and a cash reward of ₹15 lakh.
