The former skipper of Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja, has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League, the CSK franchise said in an official statement on Wednesday. Here in this article, we talk about Ravindra Jadeja News – Ruled out of IPL 2022.
CSK’s chief executive officer Kasi Vishwanathan said Jadeja had a bruised rib. “The medical advice is he should not strain it, so we have decided that he should leave the IPL,” ESPNcricinfo quoted him as saying.
He further said he started feeling pain in his rib at the time when he was removed as a captain after going through some continuous defeats in the IPL as a captain.
“He was feeling pain while bowling and batting. So we thought that it would be wise to let him rest. We have informed the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) as well,” the website mentioned.
Jadeja served as CSK’s captain for the first eight games in IPL 2022. As the team was going through a series of defeats, he handed over the baton back to MS Dhoni.
Under his captaincy, the Chennai franchise lost six out of the eight games and won only two games. Individually, the southpaw was underperforming where he managed to score only 116 runs across 10 matches.
Being a crucial player as a spinner, his bowling figures were confined to only single-digit where he added only five scalps to his scorecard.
There are speculations about whether BCCI had any idea about Jadeja’s injury. Regarding this, the Cricbuzz mentioned the scenarios happening within the board’s inner circles.
The website said meanwhile, that it is understood that the national team management, contrary to the norm for such injuries, had no prior information about the injury adding to the questions over Jadeja’s exit from the bubble.
“Even the national selectors, notified about the injury, did not seem to know about it. Chief selector Chetan Sharma didn’t respond to a query,” it said.
