Shikhar Dhawan Scored His Maiden Century In The IPL:
In the 34th match of the Indian Premier League ( IPL) 2020 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday, Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets. Opener Shikhar Dhawan was the hero of the night, completing 57 deliveries of his maiden century in the IPL, remaining unbeaten until the end to see his side over the line.
Dhawan, however, received some extremely valuable support from all-rounder Axar Patel, who smashed 21 runs off five balls, including three sixes against Ravindra Jadeja in the final over. The 180 chase could well have proved exceedingly difficult, if not for some sublime duo gameplay.
Earlier, for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs, the Chennai-based franchise posted a total of 179 runs with Proteas batsman Faf du Plessis finishing as the top run-scorer. In an innings comprised of six boundaries and two sixes, Du Plessis smashed 58 runs off 47 deliveries. The choice of the bowlers, accounting for two wickets, was Anrich Nortje.
