WTC Final: Day 3 – India Settle For 217 And Kiwis End At 101/2

On Day 2 Indian team have got 146 runs and lost 3 wickets – Where Virat Kohli ended getting 44 runs and Rahane 46 runs. And on Day 3 Indian plans were at TEST and they were put at an unknown challenge in the form of Kyle Jamieson.

Everybody thought India had an upper hand on the second day but on the next day that buzzword was missing – Skipper Virat Kohli (44) had to depart to the dugout and took a review with him – Jamison has caught him with LBW.

Soon after the skipper’s dismissal Rahane took the bait and fell for a halfhearted pull against Wagner and he was sent for 49. Both Rahane and Virat were close to Half-ton but they were short of 1 and 6 runs respectively.

Pant, Ashwin, and Jadeja have tried to offer some resistance but the kiwis had some other plans and soon India was all out for 217 runs in 92.1 overs. Getting numbers on board for India was like survival for them because of the sensitive conditions out there. And Jamieson had his dream day with a five-wicket haul.

Openers Tom Lantham and Devon Conway have started the New Zealand innings. They really played a decent and steady inning and had an excellent partnership of 70 runs.

Indian bowlers were trying so hard to get a wicket and finally, Ashwin struck the first wicket for Team India and sent Lantham off the field for 30 runs. And Ishant Sharma picked Conway’s (54) wicket.
