Sri Lanka tour of England summary  

The test series between England and Sri Lanka was started in Manchester, where England received a target of 205, which they chased with five wickets in hand to claim a 1-0 lead.  

Match second was a completely forgettable game for the tourists, as they suffered a 190-run loss in the penultimate match of the series.  

While the third match turned in Sri Lanka’s favour and they won the third test by maintaining an aggressive approach during the run-chase of 219 at London.  

Pathum Nissanka (127* off 124) scored a brilliant ton and remained unbeaten during the run-chase to hand Sri Lanka a win.  

Joe Root scored the most runs in the entire series with 375 in six innings, including two centuries.  

Kamindu Mendis was the brightest star for Sri Lanka in this tour, as he played some important knocks under pressure and ended the series as the third highest run-getter with 267 runs in 5 innings.
