Will India Travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025?

Pakistan hosting the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. Matches will start on February 19 and the highly anticipated final is scheduled on March 9. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected three cities as official venues for this prestigious tournament: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. The question arises Will India Travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025?

However, the prospect of India participating in the tournament remains uncertain. The Indian cricket team’s travel to Pakistan is contingent upon approval from their government, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to announce any definitive plans regarding their participation.

Rizwan Hopes India’s potential arrival

 


In light of this situation, the newly appointed captain of the Pakistan cricket team expressed positivity about India’s potential arrival. He emphasized the warmth and hospitality that Pakistani fans hold for Indian cricketers, reflecting a shared love for the sport that surpasses borders.

In a recent interview, Rizwan mentioned that Pakistani fans are eager for India to participate in the Champions Trophy, assuring that the Indian cricket team would receive a warm welcome if they decide to visit Pakistan.

Pakistan fans love Indian players; we received love in India as well( During the 2023 World Cup). We also want India to come to Pakistan and pay here, Rizwan said.

I’m unsure if they’re coming for the Champions Trophy, but one thing is certain if they come, they’ll receive an awesome welcome here, he added. Source: (The Times Of India).

Harbhajan Singh has emphasized Safety concerns

Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has voiced serious concerns about the safety of players traveling to Pakistan during an interview with The Times of India. He emphasized that without strong assurances regarding safety measures, it would be unwise for Indian players to travel to Pakistan. Harbhajan believes that player safety should always be the top priority, and given the current situation, it may not be possible for them to participate in events there.
