Batting first, West Indies made a steady start and collected 41 in 5.4 for the first wicket before Alick Athanaze went back to pavilion after scoring a 21-ball 28.

A 42-run stand in 24 balls for the second wicket between Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran further strengthened the West Indies innings to post a good total.
Skipper Rovman Powell’s 22-ball 35 and Sherfane Rutherford’s 29 off 18 guided the Caribbean team to 179 after 20 overs.
South Africa require 180 to win in 20 overs
Reeza Hendricks provided the visitors a strong start in the run-chase with an 18-ball 44. Skipper Aiden Markram showed signs of a good show, but he failed to convert his start and threw his wicket on 19.
