Why did Ben Stokes withdraw from T20 WC 2024?: On Tuesday (April 2), Ben Stokes withdraw from T20 World Cup 2024. A big blow to the England’s title defense in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Which will be hosted in the West Indies and the United States in June 2024. Stokes was a member of the Jos Buttler-led England squad that won the previous edition of this ICC Tournamnet, which was hosted in Australia in 2022. In the final against Pakistan, Stokes scored an unbeaten 52 off 49 to make England win by five wickets at the MCG

The England Test Skipper, who was last in action playing in the five-match Test series with hosts India in January-March. Last Day he has taken the tough call in order to regain full fitness after he went through the knee surgery in November 2023.

In a statement shared by the England Cricket Board (ECB), Stokes mentions that he is focusing on the fitness and full fledge recovery to regain the form and momentum back for the game. Opting this  seems a big sacrifice for both IPL and T20 World Cup, but the other aspect is also a important to look after in a future prospect.

Stokes has not been fully fit in the recent times. In Ashes at home he played in a limited role with the ball, only went 29 overs with the seam collective in the 5 test matches. Returning to play in the ODI format he did not bowl a ball in the last concluded ODI World Cup held in India.

Taking the charm he only bowled 5 overs in the 5 match test series with India at  Dharamshala. He just managed to play only as a batter with less stress in the past few time.
