The 21-year-old showed his skills in the very first ball by bowling at a speed of 155.8 kmph. The youngster’s relicense and Lucknow’s comeback made sure that LSG won the match comfortably by 21 runs. This displayed amazing moments of cricket but in the end, it was Lucknow who had the final laugh.

After winning the toss Lucknow decided to bat first keeping the due factor in mind. However, today’s match started with a big surprise, when Nicholas Pooran came out for a toss instead of KL Rahul. It was soon understood that LSG had planned to use KL Rahul as an impact player after his innings.

This plan however did not go in their favor at first as KL Rahul was dismissed for (15 off 9 balls). Later on, he was substituted for Naveen ul Haq. Q de Kock was one of the key players for LSG today as he smashed 58 of 32 balls before getting dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the 14th over. Skipper Pooran also played his part during the middle overs, where he made sure LSG did not lose control of the game.

At 15.1 overs LSG were five down with a score of 146, but then came the old hero Kurnal Pandya who took the charge and made sure LSG finished off with a decent target on board to defend. He smashed an unbeaten 43 off 22 balls. All these combined performances propelled LSG to 199/8 in 20 overs.

LSG Bowlers Comeback Perfectly into the Game

With 199 to defend LSG bowling unit was pretty confident in restricting the Punjab batter, but that did not happen. The Punjab Kings made sure they did not give any room for LSG to make a comeback as the firepower of Dhawan and Bairstow made the job difficult for Lucknow bowlers.

Mayank Yadav the 21-year-old debutant was the main man who gave the much-needed breakthrough for Lucknow Super Giants. He even was recorded bowling the speeds of 150+ KMPH. He did not stop there as he went on to dismiss Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma. It was a dream spell for the debutant as he picked up 3 wickets in his four overs and gave away just 27 runs. His spell changed the game back in Lucknow’s favor. Mayank Yadav bowled eight 150+Kmph deliveries in his four-over spell.

Then Mohsin Khan backed him up with two quick wickets in two balls for Lucknow, which completely changed the game in Lucknow’s favor. Punjab who were going wonderful at the start (102/0 in 11.4), were down to five men at the end of 16th over. Punjab needed 56 runs of 18 balls with Liam Livingstone and Shashank Singh on the crease.

But for Lucknow Naveen-ul-Haq and Kurnal Pandya bowled the last three overs, where they had to defend 56 runs in the last three overs. However, it was a difficult task for Liam Livingstone to finish the innings as the Lucknow bowlers did not give any room for him to play the big shots.
